Take a walk on the dowtown Eastside with Bright Light Program Co-Ordinator Marianne Bos for a private talk and tour of the Bright Light Public Art Program . Bright Light was one of a wide variety of public art projects commissioned to mark the occasion of the Vancouver 2010 Olympics and Paralympic Games. In the case of Bright Light, the intention is to animate the newly completed Carrall Street Greenway with projects that explore new understandings of public art.

The program brings together the creative energy of fourteen arts organizations active in VancouverĀ¹s Downtown Eastside. Outdoor performances, video projections, urban planning demonstrations, social events and a parade were just some of the manifestations that animate the historical heart of the city. The CASV special evening will begin at the new AUDAIN Project Gallery at SFU Woodwards for a look at the inaugural exhibition First Nations/Second Nature. Bos will then take the group on a short walking tour of some of the Bright Light projects currently active ending at the Instant Coffee Light Bar for a private CASV reception.
