COLLABORATING WITH THE CAPTURE PHOTOGRAPHY FESTIVAL

Posted: Friday, January 30, 2015

On behalf of the Board of Directors of the Contemporary Art Society of Vancouver (CASV) we are pleased to announce that the CASV will be partnering with Capture Photo Festival to host a special event this spring, a panel discussion featuring the highly underrepresented topic of “Women in Photography”!

“Capture is an annual celebration dedicated to local and international photography and lens-based art.”  It is a not-for-profit festival that will happen annually each April.  As the CASV’s mandate includes partnering with other organizations and hosting events that promote awareness and understanding of contemporary art in all forms, we are passionate about supporting this event.

We look forward to presenting our panel discussion in April and will provide you with more information as the event nears.  In the meantime, please join us in supporting their annual fundraising gala on February 5th.  Here’s a look at the fabulous gala held for their inaugural festival in 2013, which hosted major artists, collectors, patrons and gallery owners, and curators.

Capture Photography Festival Annual Fundraiser is fast approaching.

The evening’s celebration will mark the release of our new “mini” edition series, featuring limited edition works by Danny Singer, Birthe Piontek, Scott Massey and Jessica Eaton. Works are priced between $100-$250. We’ve invited a select group of artists to contribute limited editions that, thanks to their ‘petite’ scale, are guaranteed to fit on the wall of even the smallest Vancouver condo.

When: February 5th, 7:30pm – 10:00pm

Where: MINI Yaletown, 1039 Hamilton Street Vancouver, B.C., V6B 5T4

Ticket Price: $175, available through Eventbrite
