Shawn Hunt

Shawn Hunt makes paintings, carves gold and silver jewellery, as well as totems and masks in red and yellow cedar. He has worked with his father, Bradley Hunt, and his brother, Dean Hunt. Shawn also holds a diploma in Studio Art from Capilano College and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of British Columbia. In particular, his work was included in the 2005 ‘Changing Hands: Art Without Reservation 2’ exhibit developed by the Museum of Arts and Design, New York. Shawn was also included in the Bill Reid Gallery’s ‘Continuum: Vision and Creativity on the Northwest Coast’ exhibition in 2009. Shawn received the BC Creative Achievement Awards for First Nations’ Art from the BC Achievement Foundation in 2011, and his painting, “Master of Ceremony” was included in Beat Nation at Vancouver Art Gallery. He has had solo exhibitions at Blanket Gallery and Macaulay & Co.
