Please join us for a public artist talk with Paul P.  co-sponsored by the Contemporary Art Society of Vancouver and the Simon Fraser University Gallery.  The talk will take place at 7pm in  room 7000, 515 West Hastings Street (at Richards), SFU Vancouver Campus.  There will be a members reception to follow.

Paul P. makes sensitive painting and drawing studies, taking young men as his predominant subject matter. The figures in these intimate portraits appear as if from another time or place. Recent solo shows include Mark Selwyn Fine Arts, Los Angeles (2011), Daniel Reich Gallery, New York (2010), Thaddaeus Ropac, Salzburg (2009), Maureen Paley, London, 2008, and the Power Plant, Toronto (2007). Recent group shows include, The Art on Paper Biennial, Weatherspoon Art Museum (2010), Compass in Hand, MoMA (2009). His work was also shown at Compass: Drawings from the MoMA, Martin Gropius-Bau, Berlin, and the Freud Museum, London. Paul P.’s work is in the collections of MoMA, SFMoMA, the Brooklyn Museum, The Speed Museum and the Art Gallery of Ontario. Born in Canada in 1977, Paul P. lives and works in Paris. P.’s first exhibition in Vancouver will open Friday October 21 at Blanket Contemporary Art.
